Johann Meier, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children (Johann Jakob, age 10; Andreas, age 8; Elisabeth, age 3; Nikolaus, age 8-days) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard a ship named Die Neue Fortuna (The New Fortune) under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.
Peter Johann Meyer is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Meier came from the German region of Holstein.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.
