Johann Jacob Mörs, son of Michael Thomas Mörs, married Albertina Ernestina Forel.
The births of at least two children of Johann Jacob Mörs & Albertina Ernestina Forel are recorded in the parish register of Büdingen: (1) Maria Louisa, born 19 October 1727; and (2) Philipp Ludwig, born 27 February 1730.
(1) Maria Louisa Mörs married on 6 February 1755 in Wolf to Johannes Wacker. They immigrated to Russia and settled in Norka. [See Wacker Family.]
(2) Philipp Ludwig Mörs married on 10 January 1760 in Büdingen to Johanna Maria Geyer, daughter of Johann Georg Geyer & Anna Catharina Neumetzger. She had been born 3 of February 1737 in Budingen.
The baptisms of the following children born to Philipp Ludwig Mörs & Anna Catharina Neumetzger are recorded in the parish register of Büdingen: (1) Johannes, baptized 7 February 1762; and (2) Michael Thomas, baptized 13 June 1764.
Widower Ludwig Mertz [sic] and his sons (Johannes, age 5; Michael, age 2) along with servant Katharina [surname not recorded] (age 60) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders.
Johann Ludwig Mörs [sic] and his sons (Johannes, age 6; Michel Thomas, age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widower Ludwig Mersch and his sons (Johannes, age 16; Johann Thomas, age 4) are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 208 along with orphan Elisabeth Keier, daughter of the deceased Johannes Keier. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Mersch and Keier families. They had settled in Norka on 2 September 1767.
Widower Philipp Ludwig Mersch and his sons (Johannes, age 15; Thomas, age 13) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 49.
Ludwig Mersch is recorded on the 1798 census of Messer in Household No. Ms70. His son Thomas Mersch is recorded there in Household No. Ms41.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Ludwig Mertz [sic] was a potter while the 1767 census records that Ludwig Mersch was a craftsman (Handwerker). Both documents record that he came from the German district of Isenburg.
