Joseph Metzinger, a coachman (Fuhrmann), and his wife Maria Judine settled in the Volga German colony of Graf on 10 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

[This couple may be the Joseph Metzel & Maria Geyer who were married on 10 June 1766 in Roßlau.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Metzinger came from the German village of Dinkelsbühl.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
