Sebastian Modell, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Theresia, age 10; Michael, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.

Sebastian Modell, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Theresia, age 10¼; Michael, age 1¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.

In 1795, Franz Model moved from Ober-Monjou to Wittmann.

The 1767 census records that Sebastian Model came from the German village of Nervgenstal [?] near Mergenthal.
