Sebastian Modell, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Theresia, age 10; Michael, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Sebastian Modell, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Theresia, age 10¼; Michael, age 1¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.
In 1795, Franz Model moved from Ober-Monjou to Wittmann.
The 1767 census records that Sebastian Model came from the German village of Nervgenstal [?] near Mergenthal.
