Andreas Moritz, cloth maker (Tuchmacher), and his wife Dorothea settled in the Volga German colon of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Moritz came from the German village of Neumünster in the Holstein region.
