Muth (Grimm)
Nicolaus Muth, son of Velten Muth, was baptized in Schlierbach on 20 October 1720. Nicolaus Muth and Charlotta Kühnemman, daughter of Daniel Kühnemman, were married in Schlierbach on 20 January 1747.
Nikolaus Muth, his wife Charlotta, and children (Susanna, age 21; Alexander, age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 39.
Nikolaus Muth, his wife Katharina Elisabeth, son Alexander and his wife Katharina, and grandson Johann Adam (age 1½) are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 117.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nikolaus Muth was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker).
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Nikolaus Muth came from the German region of Isenburg.
