Neumann (Göbel-2)
Gottlieb Neumann, his wife Marianna [Weiss], and children (Johann Gottlieb, age 19; Franziscus, age 4; Georg, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 24 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.
Widower Gottlieb Neumann, the son, is recorded on the 1798 census of Volmer in Household No. Vm48 along with a note that he's actually in Enders with his children.
Son Franz Neumann is recorded on the 1798 census of Husaren in Household No. Hn09.
The 1834 census of Husaren (Household No. 28) records that Johannes Neumann relocated from Husaren to Seelmann in 1825.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gottlieb Neumann was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker). The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Neumann came from the German village of Friedenberg in the Schlesien (Silesia) region.
