Nikolaus Nielsen, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Andreas, age 16; Margaretha, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 58. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Nielsen came from the Danish village of Flensburg.
