The baptism of Johann Georg Pflaum, son of Andreas & Anna Maria Pflaum of Höhefeld, is recorded in the parish register of Niklashausen on 3 January 1757.
Andreas Pflaum, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Katharina, age 17¼; Regina, age 14; Johann Georg, age 9½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a pinque named Каргополь (Kargopol) [a Russian City] under the command of Captain Lieutenant Moses Davydov.
Andreas died after arriving in Russia. His widow, Anna Maria remarried to Michael Weinert and they settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14 along with surviving son Georg.
The 1798 census records that Georg Pflaum from Urbach was living in Stahl am Karaman in Household No. Sk35.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Pflaum came from the German region of Wertneim [Wertheim]. The 1767 census records that Anna Maria came from the German village of Bärstadt.
