Johann Michael Raab & Maria Margaretha Michel were married on 8 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Johann Michael Raabe [sic], a mason (Maurer), and his wife Veronica arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Vergoldete Weintraube (The Gilded Grape) under the command of Skipper Joachim Hermann Andersen.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 July 1767, and he is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27 with his [new] wife Christina.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Michael Raabe [sic] came from the region of Straßburg [today in France]. The 1767 census records that Michael Raabe came from the German village of Wolfsheim in France.
