Anton Peter Rau, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Christina, age 18; Johann Heinrich, age 15¼; Christian, age 10½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of the Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
Anton Peter died after arriving in Russia and his widow Anna Maria remarried to widower Andreas Anderson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 27 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4 along with the Rau children.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Peter Rau came from the German region of Holstein.
