Rau (Grimm-2)
Konrad Rau, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 69 along with his new wife Anna Margaretha Aff.
Konrad Rau and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 145.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Konrad Rau came from the German region of Darmstadt.
Rau Family in Sarepta
Parish registers in Sarepta record that Maria Magdalena Rau, daughter of Konrad Rau & Anna Margaretha Aff, was born in Grimm on 11 March 1787. The family had relocated to Sarepta on 27 September 1799.
