Rehauser (Rothammel)*

Johannes Rehauser, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Katharina, age 17; Peter, age 16; Christina, age 14; Franzisca, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Johann Rehhauser [sic], his wife Maria, and children (Catharina, age 19; Peter, age 17¼; Christina, age 14; Francisca, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 with a note that father Johann died en route.

Widow Elisabeth Rehauser and the children settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Rehauser came from the region of Worms while the 1767 census records that the family came from the German village of Sillers in the Lothringen region.

There are no surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
