Discussion & Documentation:

Philipp Rehberger, son of Johannes Jacob Rehberger & Maria Barbara Haas, was baptized in St. Martin's Church in Orb on 13 August 1741. He married there on 30 July 1764 to Margaretha Winter.

Philipp Reberger, a farmer, and his new wife Katharina [Ihl] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Philip Reberg [sic] and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Zug. They are recorded in 1767 on a list of Beauregard recruits in Household No. 76.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Reberger came from the German region of Mainz while the Beauregard list records that he came from the German village of Orb.
