Matthias Reim, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and sons (Christian, age 10; Christoph, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Rohleder in Household No. 4. They had arrived in Rohleder on 14 June 1766.

In 1834, Anton Reim, son of Christoph Reim, moved from Rohleder to Schönchen.

The 1767 census records that Matthias Reim came from the German region of Zweibrücken.
