Johann Jakob Remler, a single tailor (Schneider), settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.
The 1767 census records that Johann Jakob Remler came from the German village of Reval in Estland [today, Tallinn, Estonia].
There are no known surviving male lines of this Remler family among the Volga German colonies.
