Heinrich Riedlew, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Johann Peter (age 6) are recorded on the 1767 census of Stahl am Tarlyk in Household No. 30. They had settled there on 5 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Riedlew came from the German village of Varel in the Oldenburg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
