Orphan Margaretha Riegel (age 21) is recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 35 along with the Johann Georg Schmidt family. The 1775 census does not record a relationship between the Riegel and Schmidt families.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Riegel family among the Volga German colonies.
