Riesch (Pfeifer)
Widow Anna Riesch and her children (Eva, age 25; Andreas, age 20; Balthasar, age 17½; Anna, age 10; Maria, age 7; Johann, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.
Andreas Riesch and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 58. Mattias [Balthasar?] Riesch, his wife Anna Barbara, and sister Anna Martha (age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 95. Both of these Riesch families had settled in Pfeifer on 20 August 1767.
The 1798 census of Pfeifer records in Household No. Pf13 that Nikolaus Riesch is working in the colony of Semenovka.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that the Riesch family came from the German region of Dienheim while the 1767 census records that they came from the Berman region of Würzburg.
