Ring / Rink (Dietel)
Andreas Ring, a carpenter, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 July 1766 on a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Nikolai (St. Nicholas) under the command of Midshipman Thomas McKenzie. Andreas died after arriving in Russia, and his widow Margaretha remarried to Christian David.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767. Oldest son Andreas and his new wife are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16. The rest of the Ring children are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with the Christian David family.
They 1767 census records that son Andreas came from the German village of Albshausen near Darmstadt while the 1767 census records that the remaining Ring children came from the German village of Kork in the region of Darmstadt.
