Rowein
Abraham Rowein, his wife Anna, and daughter Dorothea (age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 1 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35 along with newborn son Michael (age ½-year).
Georg Rohwein from Kamenka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Josefstal in Household No. 45.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Abraham Rowein was a housepainter from the German region of the Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he was a chimney builder (Ofenbauer) from the town of Mannheim.
