Christoph Rupp, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children (Johann Georg, age 13; Nikolaus, age 8; Elisabeth, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 17 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 70 [where son Nikolaus is recorded as Olof] along with newborn son Johann Jakob.

In 1791, Nikolaus Rupp and his family moved from Huck to Balzer.

Nikolaus Rupp and his family (including his widowed mother Margaretha, age 72) are recorded on the 1798 census of Balzer in Household No. Bz035 along with a note that Nikolaus Nikolaus is serving as the schoolmaster in Kratzke and that his brother Johann Ernst is working in the colony of Galka.

The death of Nikolaus Rupp in 1828 is recorded on the 1834 census of Pobochnaya in Household No. 18 along with his sons.

The death of Johann Jakob Rupp [brother of Nikolaus] in 1817 is recorded on the 1834 census of Balzer in Household No. 228.

Jakob Rupp, son of Johann Jakob Rupp, and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Balzer in Household No. 237.

August Rupp, son of Johann Ernst Rupp, is recorded on the 1811 census of Schwed in Household No. 3 as the stepson of Johann Adam Müller. August's mother Barbara [Hellbach] is recorded on the 1834 census of Schwed having remarried yet again to Adam Kraus.

August Rupp and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Schwed in Household No. 3.

August Rupp and his family are recorded on the 1850 census of Schwed in Household No. 68.

The death of August Rupp in 1851 is recorded on the 1857 census of Schwed in Household No. 51.

There is a Johannes Rupp recorded on the 1834 census of Walter in Household No. 59. He is believed to be connected into this Rupp family in some way.

The son and grandsons of Johannes Rupp and their families are recorded on the 1857 census of Walter in Household No. 61.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christoph Rupp came from the German region of Hessen. The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Isenburg.
