Schäfer (Fischer)
Johann Schäfer, a pastor's son (Pastorensohn), settled in the Volga German colony of Fischer on 11 April 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21 along with his wife Anna Rebekka and their daughter Johanna Katharina (age 2).
Johann Georg Schäfer, his family, and his brother Johann Friedrich Schäfer are recorded on the 1798 census of Fischer in Household No. Fs36 along with a note that Johann Friedrich Schäfer is working in Kaneau. They are presumed to be sons of Johann Schäfer.
Johann [Georg] Schäfer, his family, and his brother Johann Friedrich Schäfer are recorded on the 1811 census of Fischer in Household No. 36 along with a note that Johann Friedrich Schäfer relocated to the colony of Kaneau in 1800.
The 1767 census records that Johann Schäfer came from the village of Galobar [see Schulz] in England.
