He married there on 27 April 1743 to Magdalena Hartmann, daughter of Johannes & Anna Barbara Hartmann. They have six known children, all baptized in Langenschwarz: (1) Johann Kaspar, born 1 February 1744; (2) Anna Barbara, born 3 September 1748, died 19 January 1749; (3) Anna Barbara, born 20 January 1750; (4) Elisabeth, born in 1751; (5) Anna Margaretha, born 4 November 1753, died as an infant; and (6) Anna Margaretha, born 9 June 1755.

Johann Georg died 13 March 1755 in Langenschwarz, and his widow remarried there on 21 August 1755 to Johannes Ils, son of Johannes Ils & Dorothea Zacharias. The Ils family along with the Schössler step-children immigrated to Russia, arriving in the colony of Walter on 25 August 1767.

Son Johann Kaspar Schössler is recorded on the 1798 Census in Walter in Household No. 29. His sisters are recorded with the Ils family in Household No. 10.
