Widow Eva Elisabeth Schäfer and her children (Jakob, age 22; Johann Kaspar, age 20; Eva Eisabeth, age 16; Johann Georg, age 13; Anna Margaretha, age 9) immigrated to Schleswig-Holstein (Denmark) arriving in the town of Schleswig on 30 May 1761.

On 8 August 1761, Eva Elisabeth Schäfer and the younger children are recorded on the farmstead of "Lille Dannemark" in the Danish colony of Julianenebene.

The parish register of Kropp [Denmark] records on 2 July 1761 the marriage of Jacob Schäfer to Anna Cathrina Bärch.

On 8 August 1761, Jacob Schäfer & his new bride are recorded on the farmstead of "Bülow Hof" also in the Danish colony of Julianenebene.

The parish register of Christkirche in Rendsburg records on 10 June 1762 the baptism of Johann Caspar Schäfer, son of Johann Jacob & Catharina Schäfer.

The parish register of Hohn [Denmark] records on 31 May 1763 the marriage of Johann Caspar Schäfer to Margreta Walter.

The parish register of Hohn also records on 22 June 1764 the baptism of Jacob Schäfer, son of Casper Schäfer & Margreta Walter, and his death as Jürgen Jacob on 26 June 1764 at the age of 4-days old.

They are last recorded in the Danish colonies on 18 February 1765.

They joined the migration to Russia and are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Households No. 42, 58, & 70.

The Eichhorns record that this Schäfer family came from the German village of Rohrbach near Lichtenberg in the Hessen-Darmstadt region.
