Juni 1766 - Ist Johann Schaumburg, Weißbäcker und Kaiserlicher Russischer Kolonist, verstorbenen Joseph Schaumburgers, Königlicher Preussischer Geranadiers unter dem Printz Karlscher Regiment nachgelassener ehelicher Sohn und Jungfrau Katharina Schülerin verstorbenen N. Schülers, Bauaufsehers in Dessau, nachgelassene eheliche Tochter in hiesiger Kirche eingesegnet und getraut worden."
[Translation: " On 9 June 1766 Johann Schaumburg, baker of white bread and Imperial Russian colonist, legitimate son of the deceased Joseph Schaumburgers, Royal Prussian Geranadier of the Prince Karlscher regiment, married Katharina Schüler, virgin daughter of the deceased N. Schüler, building supervisor in Dessau, was consecrated in the local parish church."]
Johann Schaumburg and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.
Johannes Schaumburg and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Schaumburg, a baker (Bäcker), and his wife Sophia are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 16 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Wittmann in 1768. They are recorded on the 1767 census along with Sophia's siblings (Gottfried Speier, age 14; Eva Speier, age 13) who also relocated to Wittmann in 1768.
Widower Johann Schaumburg and his daughters are recorded on the 1798 census of Wittmann in Household No. Wm14.
The death of Johann Schaumburg in 1823 is recorded on the 1834 census of Wittmann in Household No. 112.
The 1767 census records that Johann Schaumberg came from the German region of Berlin.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
