Gottlieb Schmidt, a single hunter (Jäger), is recorded on a listing of Beauregard recruits (No. 156) attached to the 1767 census along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Biberstein in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Schmidt came from the German village of Schieritz.
