Schmidt (Jost)
Silbert Rudolph Schmidt, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 18 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45 along with his new wife Anna Katharina.
The 1767 census records that Rudolph Schmidt came from the German village of Schwerin in the Mecklenburg region.
