Wilhelm Schmidt, a single craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Reinhard on 15 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18 along with a note that he is working for Colonist Rolof.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schmidt family among the Volga German colonies.
