Schmidt (Schilling-1)
Widow Anna Schmidt and her children (Konrad, age 18½; Johann, age 17; Maria, age 16; Anna, age 12; Reinhardt, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Surving sons Johann Adam Schmidt, his wife Dorothea, and Reinhard are recorded on the 1775 census of the Volga German colony of Schilling in Household No. 67.
Johann Adam Schmidt and his family (sons: Georg Reinhard, age 22; Georg Adam, age 13; Johann Jakob, age 8) are recorded on the 1798 census of Schilling in Household No. Sg070.
Reinhard Schmidt from Schilling and his son Johann Martin are recorded on the 1811 census of Straub in Household No. 54 along with a note that they arrived in Straub from Schilling in 1803.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that this Schmidt family came from the German village of Gelnhausen.
Johann Adam & Reinhardt do not appear to be related to the other Schmidt family in Schilling.
