Johannes Schmidt, a single farmer, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 75.
It is not known in which colony he settled.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Schmidt came from the German village of Winterstein [?].
There are no known surviving male lines of of this Schmidt family among the Volga German colonies.
