Herrmann Schmidt, his wife Anna, and children (Paul, age 12; Gertruda, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.
Hermann Schmidt, his wife Anna, and children (Paul, age 12; Margaretha, age 1½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Margaretha died in route.
It is not known in which colony they settled.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schmidt family among the Volga German colonies.
