Johann[es] Schnell, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna [Margaretha], age 20; Johann [Heinrich], age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 on board a ship under the command of Skipper John Scott.

Johannes Schnell, his wife Anna Elisabeth, children (Anna Margreta, age 20; Johann Heinrich, age 18), and servant Johann Reuter (age 18) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann[es] Schnell, a farmer, his wife [new] Sabina, son Johann Heinrich (age 19), and stepchildren (Johannes Schröder, age 15; Anna Maria Schröder, age 12 [children of the deceased Konrad Schröder]) are recorded on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 193. They had settled there on 26 August 1767.

Johannes Schnell and his family are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 142.

Son Johann Heinrich Schnell and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr149. His sister [Anna] Margaretha Schnell, wife of Jakob Seder, is recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr150.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Schnell came from the German district of Hessen while the 1767 census records that they are from the German district of Isenburg.
