Discussion & Documentation

Johann Schotter, a farmer, and his wife Anna are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 23 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Wittmann in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johann Schotter came from the German village of Wiesensteig.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
