Balzer Schubach, his wife Anna, and children (Balzer, age 20; Johann, age 19; Anna, age 16; Maria age 14½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Alder under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Balzer Schubach was a cobbler while the 1767 census records tha the was a farmer. The 1767 census records that Balzer Schubach came from the German town of Lüneburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schubach family among the Volga German colonies.
