Schu(h)macher (Stahl am Tarlyk)*
Peter Schuhmacher, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and children (Andreas, age 20; August, age 14; Johann, age 10; Christina, age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.
Peter Henrich Schumacher and his son Andreas Jacob (age 20) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Schumacher came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census records that Peter Schuhmacher came from the German village of Atip in the Holstein region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Schuhmacher family among the Volga German colonies.
