Schu(h)mann (Boisroux)
Georg Schumann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Maria, age 12; Johann, age 10; Werner, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Georg Schumann, his wife Anna Doroth., and children (Maria Doroth., age 12; Johann Christian, age 10; Johann Werner, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.
In 1771, Georg Schumann and his family moved from Boisroux to Biberstein.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Schumann came from the German region of Lauenburg while the 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Löben.
