Jakob Schuhmann, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Severnyi Orel (Northern Eagle) under the command of Lieutenant Pyotr Malenkov.
Jakob Schuhmann, a farmer, and his wife, Maria, settled in the Volga German colony of Kautz on 20 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 5.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Schuhmann came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Hassloch.
