Discussion & Documentation

Christian Schulz, a farmer, his wife Louisa, and son Johann (age 9) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Christian Schultze [sic], his wife Luoa Blanckenfleisch [sic], and son Joh. Heinrich [age not recorded] are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

It is not known in which colony this family settled. [Idt & Rauschenbach record that this family went to Novgorod.]

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Schulz came from the German region of Treptow.

There are no known continuing male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
