Discussion & Documentation:

Jakob Schuttler, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Anna, age 16; Elisabeth, age 11; Katharina, age 5; Anna [again], age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Jacob Schuttler, his wife Anna Catharina, and daughters (Anna Maria, age 16; Maria Elisabeth, age 11; Anna Catharina, age 5¼; Anna Elisabeth, age 1) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that father Jacob and youngest daughter Anna Elisabeth died in route.

It is not known in which colonies the Schuttler family settled.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Schuttler came from the German region of Darmstadt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schuttler family among the Volga German colonies.
