Schwab (Semenovka-1)

There are three Schwab families that settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka. Two of them are believed to be related because it is recorded on the 1767 census that they both came from Eichstätt in the region of Kurmainz.

(1) Mattias Schwab, a farmer, and his wife Marianna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Mattheus Schwab and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Matthias Schwab, a farmer, and his family settled in Semenovka on 24 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.

Mattias Schwab and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schwab in Household No. Se35.

(2) Kaspar Schwab, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

Caspar Schwab is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Kaspar Schwab, a farmer, and his wife Katharina [Ritz] are recorded on the 1767 census of Semenovka in Household No. 30. They had settled in Semenovka on 24 July 1767.
