Three Schwab families settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka. They all arrived together in Oranienbaum, but the other one is from a different location.
Two of them arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 August 1766 aboard the galliot named Die Perle (The Pearl) under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen. Their relationship, if any, needs further research.
(1) Mattias Schwab, a farmer, and his wife Marianna arrived in Oranienbaum.
Mattheus Schwab and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Matthias Schwab, a farmer, and his family settled in Semenovka on 24 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.
Mattias Schwab and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schwab in Household No. Se35.
(2) Kaspar Schwab, a single farmer, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Caspar Schwab is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Kaspar Schwab, a farmer, and his wife Katharina [Ritz] are recorded on the 1767 census of Semenovka in Household No. 30. They had settled in Semenovka on 24 July 1767.
Kaspar Schwab, his wife Katharina Ritz, and their family are recorded on the 1798 census of Semenovka in Household No. Se07.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that both of these Schwab families came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census that both of these Schwab families came from the German village of Eichstätt in the region of Kurmainz.
