Johann Ludwig Schwarz, a single hunter (Jäger), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Ludew. Schwartz is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 89.
J. Friedrich Schwarz and his family are recorded on an 1865 list of colonists who resettled to Lilienfeld along with a note that they had arrived in Lilienfeld from Orlovskaya on 7 March 1859.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Ludwig Schwarz came from Prussia while the 1767 census records that he came from Königsberg.
