Johannes Schwindt, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 22 September 1767.  They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 212.

Johannes Schwindt, his wife Anna Dorothea, and children (Johann David, age 18; Louisa, age 13) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka inHousehold No. 18.

Martin Schwindt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Norka in Household No. Nr076.

Martin Schwindt and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 76.

Nikolaus Schwindt, son of Martin Schwindt, is recorded on the 1811 census of Norka in Household No. 76 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Straub [year not recorded].

Nikolaus Schwindt from Norka is recorded on the 1811 census of Straub in Household No. 56 along with a note that he had arrived in Straub from Norka in 1805.

The 1798 census of Yagodnaya Polyana records Johannes Schwindt from Norka in Household No. Yp95.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Schwindt came from the German district of Isenburg.
