Discussion & Documentation

Andreas Seitz, his wife Margaretha, and daughter Sabina (age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 1 March 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 60.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Seitz came from the German village of Neuburg an der Donau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Seitz family among the Volga German colonies.
