Michael Sitz, a single mirror maker (Spiegelmacher), settled in the Volga German colony of Bettinger on 3 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Orlovskaya in 1768.

The death of Michael Sitz in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 92.

The 1767 census records that Michael Sitz came from the German village of Undeit.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
