Abraham Stahlmann, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp. Arriving with them were Johann Friedrich Knobloch and his wife Anna Elisabeth née Stahlmann, presumed to be a daughter of Abraham Stahlmann.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Abraham Stahlmann came from the German region of Pfalz.
