Friedrich Stahlmann, a farmer, and his wife Helena arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 May 1766 aboard the galliot named Adler (Eagle) under the command of the Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 May 1767. Friedrich is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with his new wife, Maria Appel and her daughter Anna (age 15).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Friedrich Stahlmann came from the German region of Holstein. The 1767 census records that Friedrich Stahlmann came from the German village of Glückstadt in the Holstein area.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Stahlmann family among the Volga German colonies.
