Discussion & Documentation

Johannes Stein and his family immigrated to Russia. His son David (age 14) settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767.  David is recorded in Norka on the 1767 census in Household No. 10 (household of Kaspar Weigandt) along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Schilling in 1768.

David's son, Johann Heinrich Stein, is recorded on the 1798 census of Schilling in Household No. Sg080.

The 1767 census records that David Stein came from the German district of Isenburg.
