Johann Stern, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea Sophia are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 34. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johann Stern came from the German village of Kiel in the Holstein region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
