Taub*
Just Taub, a farmer, his wife Anna, and sons (Johann, age 15; Valentin, age 16; Andreas, age 15) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Johann Jost Taub and children (Joh. Wilhelm, age 25; Johann Valentin, age 18; Andreas, age 15) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that father Johann Jost and sons Joh. Wilhelm & Andreas died en route.
Son Valentin Taub settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 65 along with his new wife Anna.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Just Taub came from the German region of Witterau. The 1767 census records that Valentin Taub came from the German village of Willebadessen.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
